Wow! I am SO glad it is finally spring!!! I feel like I say this every year but it really was a long winter:-( And I realize that I have so serious catching up do regarding the Callahan Crew since it has been since January that I last updated the blog! And yes, as you can imagine, a lot has happened since January...we had wonderful visits with close friends, watched Butler go the NCAA Championship again, played at the Children's Museum, moved into big kid beds, started speaking in complete sentances and celebrated Valentines Day, birthdays, Easter and Mothers Day (whew!). So hear are some pictures to catch you up on our last four months:

So I mentioned that the triplets moved into their "big" beds about a month ago. I was kind of nervous about this but they have done great! I kind of went all out with decorating their new rooms since I never did much with their nursery. I had someone paint butterflies for the girls and an airplane for Harry. Another lady, Mary, helped me with the rest of the decorating and the rooms turned out AMAZING! Here is the final product:

Happy 2011!!! Wow, 2010 just FLEW by! I guess three 2 year olds keep us pretty busy thus making the days pass very quickly:-) We had a wonderful Christmas this year though. Although I'm not convinced the kids completely got the whole Santa thing, they definitely had a ton of fun opening their presents on Christmas morning:-D Leading up to Christmas, we played the "Elf on a Shelf" game with thim...which they loved! They named their elf Bob, ha! For those who are not familiar with this game, every night Bob "moves" to a new spot in the house after giving Santa a report on whether the kiddos were naughty or nice and then the kids have to find Bob's new hiding spot in the morning...so cute! We also read stories about Santa and the true meaning of Christmas, Baby Jesus' birth. All in all it was a wonderful holiday season:-D Here are our pictures from Christmas:

To start the Christmas weekend, we went to Grammy and Grampy's house on Christmas Eve to open presents and have brunch. Here is Harry with his new sit and spin:

For Christmas Eve dinner, we had over all the family for our traditional lasagna dinner. Here they are dressed up in front of our Christmas tree:

The kids were SO excited on Christmas morning when they look downstairs and saw their presents under the tree. They all shouted "presents!!!" and took off running to the tree. Here they go:

For Christmas day and dinner all the family met over at Nana's house for more presents and food. We had so much fun! Here the girls are with Aunt Leah and Nana opening with new grocery cart.

I realized that I hadn't posted any pictures of our winter time activities so I thought I would catch everyone up with our past 6 weeks or so. Daddy got a few extra days off around Christmas so we decided to take the kiddos to the Children's Museum (along with everyone else in town!) to see the Jolly Days exhibit. Unfortunately the line for the slide was WAY too long but the kids had a blast nonetheless. Here is Olivia running around the Playscape:

With Christmas time this year, came our first trip to see Santa! We took the kids to the Christmas on the Farm at Traders Point Creamy where they had Santa, live reindeer and lots of yummy food. Here the triplets are waiting in line to see Santa:

Olivia was first to go and did great! Of course, when Santa asked what she wanted for Christmas she said "no" to everything he suggested. I guess she is an easy one!

Very quickly Harry wanted to join Olivia on Santa's lap and they both did great. But when we asked Madeline it was a different story....

This was as close as Madeline was going to get to Santa! Altough I consider it a huge success considering there was no tears:-)

December was unusually snowy for Indiana this year but it was fun to have a white Christmas! We took the kids out after the first snow at the beginning of December not sure what to expect considering last year they all three screamed when we took them out in the snow. It's amazing what a difference a year makes becuase they loved the snow! Daddy took them for a sled ride and taught them how to make snow balls. Here are our three little eskimos:

Although we made the decision to keep our fake tree considering I already have too many things to take care of in my house, Nana helped me take the kiddos to a local Christmas Tree farm for some fun. Here we are in front of a tree in their barn:

Fall Fun

It is hard to believe that October is already over! I know Christmas is going to be here before we know it and with that comes winter (note pure disgust in my voice!). I love Christmas but that is about the only thing I like about winter...I am sure I was meant to live in Florida:-) Anyway, although it hasn't felt much like fall around here the past month or so, the Callahan Crew has had a great time enjoying the fun activities that come along with fall....like picking pumpkins, Halloween and playing outside. Here are some fun photos from our life this past month:

Well, this picture is actually from September but I had to include it because I just love it so much. Here are the triplets with their bestest friends, the Jack, Will and Quinn. These boys were born just two weeks before my guys and their momma has become one of my bestest friends too:-D

You may remember our trip to Stoney Creek Farms last year to pick pumpkins...well it is so much fun we have made it an official family tradition! The kids had a blast...in fact they were having so much fun they would not stay still for a picture;-)

A couple of weeks ago we got to go the triplets preschool class for a fall party with their teacher, Mrs. Truwe. We played games and decorated cookies. The kiddos are just loving school and we are so excited we decided to send them:-) Here is Harry with Mrs. Truwe:

Bryan and I decided to bring back our annual Halloween Party after a two year hiatus this year. Of course, these parties used to be designed for adult entertainment and now it was for the kiddos...oh, how things have changed;-) Several of our friends came with their kids and everyone had a great time. We ate food and played games and enjoyed each others' company! Here Madeline and Lila playing with crafts:

Ahhhhh...Paradise!

Those were the first words out of our mouths as Bryan and I arrived in Aruba for out first extended vacation since before I was pregnant with the triplets. Needless to say, we were MUCH over due for a relaxing vacation away just the two of us:-) We decided on a six day trip to Aruba in the southern carribean and it was AMAZING! It is a beautiful place and we felt completely safe everywhere we went. Here are some (ok, alot of) pictures from the trip:

We stayed at the Marriott Rennaisance Marina in Oranjestad and it was perfect! One of the reason we chose this resort was that it has a private island that a boat takes you to when ever you want to go. The boat actually comes into the hotel lobby to pick you up as you can see here:

Bryan and I liked to sit out at the end of this penninsula...sooooo relaxing!

We decided to have a really nice dinner at the amazing place called Pinchos. The restaurant is at the end of this pier so you are completely surrounded by water. It was a beautiful dinner and we got to watch the sunset as you can see in the next picture...

On our last full day there, we decided to rent a car to tour the island. It was super cheap to do but we quickly found out that was because of the type of car. Thank goodness my first car was stick shift or we would have been out of luck! Driving was definitely interesting there but I am so glad we did it.

Here I am at the Natural Bridge...well what used to be a natural bridge. It actually collapsed into the water about 2 years ago but it was still an amazing sight to see!

Bryan and a huge cactus! Aruba is actually a desert climate so there are cactus everywhere.

Unfortunately, this one got scared of the storm that had come through earlier and flew out into the ocean...it was quite entertaining watching the workers round this bird up:-)

This was our last view of the island as we prepared to leave for home. As you can see, a big storm was coming in so it made it a little easier to leave. Well that and the fact that after 6 days we were definitely ready to get back to our three little munchkins:-D

2 years old already...

Yes, our three little miracles are now officially two year olds! Well actually they turned two over a month ago, but as usual it has taken me forever to finally get the blog updated. I tried so hard to get it done before Bryan and I left for Aruba (pictures comine sooon!) but just ran out of time. But here they are...better late than never!

Olivia, Harry and Madeline LOVE Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so we decided to throw them a Mickey themed birthday party. It was a wonderful day and we were surrounded by our closest friends and family...such a blessing:-) Thanks so much to all who came! 2nd Birthday

Well here they are:

My three lil' two year olds! It is SOOOO hard to believe that Olivia, Harry and Madeline are now officially two years old. In some ways it seems like a life time ago that these three little miracles were born over 12 weeks early weighing in at just over 2lbs. each. And it seems like a life time ago that we called the NICU at Clarian North our home away from home for almost 11 weeks. It also seems like forever ago that we would be up for an hour and a half every 3 hours trying to feed three tiny preemies who took forever to finish a bottle. And time has continued to fly by while we have watched these three amazing kiddos changes SO much and beat SO many odds that were against them in the beginning. Now they are turning into little people....definitely not babies anymore! They love to run and play and chatter (they get that honestly!) and say 'no'. They also have decided that now they are two so they can throw tantrums like two year olds are supposed to;-) We have been more blessed than we can ever thank God for!

Here are some pictures from the birthday festivities. Bryan took Thursday off since it was their actual birthday and we decided to take the kiddos for a picnic at Ft. Ben Harrison State Park. Here are some pictures of the trips have fun on the playground:

On Saturday, we threw a Micky Mouse Clubhouse themed birthday party for the triplets. We invited our closest family and friends to join us in celebrating their birthday. Thank you SO much to everyone who came...it was amazing!

Summer Adventures

Yeah!!!! Summer is finally here, although does it really have to be this hot?!?! I really am not complaining about the heat though after being cooped up inside the house all winter long. Anyway, since summer has come, we have had all kinds of fun adventures with the triplets! We have been to the Zoo, the Children's Museum, Conner Prairie, the splash park, the pool....well you get the point...we have just had so much fun finally getting to get out as a family:-) I guess the easiest way to catch you up on our summer adventures is through pictures (get ready because there are a lot!). We went to the Zoo at the end of May with our bestest friends the Klines. It was a beautiful morning and kiddos got to see tons of animals. Here are some highlights:

In early June, we went to Nana's house to celebrate Daddy's birthday. We had cake and dinner and then took a short boat ride. Olivia of course LOVED the boat ride but Harry and Madeline were not too sure. I bet they will love the boat when they get older though:-)

Towards the end of June, Mommy and Grammy took the kiddos to the Children's Museum for the very first time. They had a blast in the Playscape area which is perfect for kiddos their age.

Over the fourth of July weekend we went to Fort Ben Harrison State park for the first time. We had a great time going on a hike and have a picnic. The kiddos even got to go on a pony ride! It was a beautiful day:-)

On June 18th, we had a new addition added to the familly....the triplets' first baby cousin, Evan James was born! Bryan and I went to visit him for the first time in Mt.Zion, IL where Bryan's sister lives over the Fourth of July weekend. He is such a sweet baby and we are so excited the triplets have a cousin now!!!

For the Fourth of July, we went over to friends the Corcoran's house for a cookout and to let our kiddos play around together. Megan's triplet boys are just a couple of weeks older than ours and the six of them have SO much fun together. Here is Will going down the slide:

We got a visit from "Uncle Joe", Bryan's best friend from college and the kids had so much fun playing with him. We were so glad to spend some time with Joe before he heads off to medical school at U of I!

Aunt Leah and Baby Evan made the trip to Indy to visit the triplets for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The girls were very curious about the baby...especially Madeline, but Harry wasn't so sure. In the this picture, you can see how the girls wanted to "feed" their babies while Baby Evan was fed...too cute!

And here Harry was having to learn that he has to "share" his Nana with Baby Evan...he wasn't so sure about this though!

20 Month Pictures

In May, we had our dear friend Amanda take 20 month pictures of the triplets at the IMA and of course, they turned out amazing once again! She deserves some serious credit here for how good these pictures are because taking pictures of these three is no easy feat. Now that they are on the move (and I mean on the move!) it is next to impossible to get a decent picture of them individually, let alone together. But some how she managed to do so...she is so good! This is just a small sampling of the wonderful pictures she took. I hope you enjoy them:-D

Happy Mothers Day to all of my fellow mommies out there!!! I had a wonderful Mothers Day with the fam this year. The kiddos so generously bought their mommy tickets to go see Jersey Boys in June which I am SO excited about:-D I do believe that I have most definitely been blessed with the three most amazing little bundles of joy in the whole wide world. In fact, I find it hard to even imagine that there really once was a time when the thought of having children absolutely terrified me. Now, I can't even remember what life was like before I had the triplets! They bring me more joy and love into my life than I could have ever imagined:-D

We were able to also spend Mothers Day with our moms which was wonderful. We really do appreciate and cherish those time together:-D Again I just feel so blessed to have been raised by such an amazing woman. Mom, I can only hope to be half as good of a mom to my kids as you have been for me. Thanks so much for everything!

And I have also been blessed with such a great mom-in-law. Thanks so much for EVERYTHING, Nan! You know I couldn't do it with out you:-D

We're Back!!!

Yes, we are finally back from our blog hiatus. I apologize for the extreme almost 3 month delay in updates...I have no real excuse except laziness;-) Or maybe a better word for it is sheer exhaustion! You see, since our three little pumpkins have officially become toddlers...I can barely keep up! Yes, it is official...everyone is now walking...or make that running:-) Harry was our last to master the fine art of mobility but once he did he has never looked back! The triplets are basically non-stop movement from the time they get up until they go to bed (except for afternoon nap of course). But boy are they SO much fun! We have just loved watching how much they have changed over the past couple of months as they have officially become toddlers and not babies anymore (yes, I am getting teary-eyed as I write that). And not only are they walking everywhere but they are all talking so much more too! Olivia is probably our biggest chatterbox and can pretty much mimic every word we say. Her favorite and 1st word was of course "clothes"...yes, you heard me right. She gets it honestly though;-) Harry and Madeline are talking more and more too. And boy are these three getting big! We just got weighed today and Madeline and Harry are about 24 1/2 lbs and Olivia is pushing 27 lbs.!!! Anyway, since I have about a thousand pictures uploaded, I'll just catch you up on our last couple months that way...enjoy:-D

I know everyone wants pictures of the kiddos but this first one is of us in Florida. We took a short vacation to Marco Island on Feb.10-14 just the two of us for some much needed r&r. It was a little on the chilly side for Florida but we had a great time!

Remember how I mentioned about the sunglasses...well here is Madeline with hers. The other two won't leave them on but Madeline cries when I take them off of her! She definitely loves her accesories:-)

I'm sure most of you have seen pictures from our sleepover at the Sabelhaus' on Feb. 20th but in case you haven't here are all of our kiddos...so much fun!

You may remember pictures of the ball pit the triplets got from their Nana for x-mas. Well they still LOVE that thing and have since found new ways to play with it. I have to hand it to them with their creativity!

I was SO excited to finally get the triplets outside to play once the weather finally got warm enough. We've been to the park (story for another day!), out for walks and fun playing in the back yard. Here they are playing with some of our neighbor's kids.

So probably our biggest adventure since Christmas time was our trip for the triplets' first haircuts! We took all three of them to Clubhouse Cuts for Kids on March 21st. They all did remarkably well although none of them were big fans of the cape...I think we'll pass on it next time:-)

Christmas Pictures and more...

As usual this post is a little outdated at this point but I am finally getting my picture posted from Christmas this year. We had a wonderful Christmas with the triplets and the rest of our family. It was so much fun to see their faces on Christmas morning with the presents under the tree (and no baby gate!). Of course, I still don't think they really get the whole Christmas thing but they still had so much learning how to rip open presents and playing with their new toys. We spent the morning at home just the five of us, opening our presents and spending time as a family. We then took the kiddos over to Bryan's mom's house for Christmas dinner and more present opening. Over there, Bryan's sister and her boyfriend Nate and my parents all joined us. It was a great time together! The triplets were of course spoiled by everyone with great gifts and attention:-) Here are some pictures from the day:

So the triplets finally got to experience snow for the first time on the Sunday after Christmas. We decided to bundle everybody up(this is a feat in itself!!!) and take them out to play in the snow. We had bets on whether Olivia or Madeline would be the first to cry but we both lost that bet! Harry HATED the snow...he may look like Daddy but I think he is definitely his Mommy's son in that aspect;-) Here are some fun pictures:

Everyone knows that we are huge Colts fans so of course we our kiddos are too;-) We've even taught Olivia to say "Go Colts!" and Harry will put his arms up when we say "Touch Down!"

For New Years Eve, our good friends the Sablehaus' invited us over for a family slumber party with our kids and us. It was so much fun! We took over the pack n plays and had a great time with them and our other good friends the Klines. The kiddos were able to all play together for awhile and then we put them to bed so us adults could ring in the new year together. It was so nice to get to do that with them! Merry Christmas to All!

We all would like to wish all of our friends and family a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We will be spending Christmas as a family here at home (luckily all of our family lives in Indy:-) and are looking so forward to seeing the triplets' faces on Christmas morning when they get to open their gifts. This Christmas will be a far cry different from last years'! Heck Bryan and I were so sleep deprived that we can hardly remember what we even did!!! What I do remember though is how overwhelmingly thankful we were to have our three beautiful babies home healthy and well even after all that they had been through so far in their short little lives. So Much to be Thankful For!

We truly have so much to be thankful for!!!! So Thanksgiving is a very special holiday for us because we get to spend time with family and truly reflect on how blessed our lives really are. Now don't get me wrong...we appreciate all that we have all year around but sometimes we get caught up in day to day life and sometimes we feel we haven't really stopped to thank God enough for all that we have. I could of course go on and on about what we are thankful for but of course at the top of our list is our three precious children and the fact that despite their rough beginning, God has given them their health. I often don't feel like I can be thankful enough for that! At this point, it is hard to imagine what life really was like for Bryan and I before our three little miracles came into our lives. What we do know though is that they are the best things that have happened to us since we found each other and for that we are forever THANKFUL!

As far as Thanksgiving Day went...it was wonderful!!! We spent the day at my mom and dad's house and Bryan's mom also joined us. I always love spending time with the whole family together and it is great to see the triplets play and interact with their grandparents. We all chipped in for a delicious dinner that turned out great! Harry, Olivia and Madeline got to eat their first real Thanksgiving Dinner too...they loved it! Especially the pumpkin pie for dessert;) They all of course have mommy and daddy's sweet tooth! Here are a couple of pictures from the day:

Trick or Treat!

Harry, Olivia and Madeline got to go trick-or-treating for the first time this Halloween! We had so much fun with them and our three "little bugs" were a big hit:-) We met up with our good friends the Kline's and our friends from Louisville, the Angermeier's so that the triplets could trick-or-treat with their buddies Garrett and Addie...they were all so cute! Fall Fun!

Happy Fall to all!!! We have some serious catching up to do with everyone since I have not updated this blog since the beginning of September...time just gets away!!! Anyway, things have been going great for the "terrific trio" since their first birthday. Everyone has continued to develop and grow great. In fact, they are getting down right big! Olivia is now 23 pounds and Madeline and Harry are both 21 1/2 pounds...which is fabulous! Developmentally, they are all doing great also...all three are pulling up and cruising around the house a ton. As some of you may have already seen also, the girls have even taken a couple of steps all on their own!!! Harry can walk around with help but he has had a little more trouble because he has what is called pronating ankles. Basically, his ankles are weak (mainly from being a 27 week preemie white male) and so they are rolling inward which makes it hard for him to walk around for extended periods. So his physical therapist had ordered him orthodics which will help him a ton! We think he will be walking all over before we know it once he gets those........uh, oh;-)

As far as the family goes, things have been basically the same except for one piece of big news....Bryan just accepted a new job!!!! Starting monday, he will be working for Exact Target as their Sr. Financial Analyst. This is a great opportunity for his and will be much better for the whole family because he will no longer have to travel and he will have much more advancement opportunities...we are so proud of you Bry/Daddy!

So here are a few (ok, maybe more than a few) pictures to catch you up on what we've been up to the past several weeks....enjoy!

Well, once these three started really moving around we had to whip out the gates to keep them corralled...here they are begging to be let out. They are the cutest little "jailbirds" we've ever seen!

They love to look out the front window...especially when the neighborhood kids are out. We tell them they can join them soon;-)

Back in early September, I took the kiddos to Conner Prairie with our fellow triplet friends the Corcorans. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a great time petting on the animals and watching the people. Here is Madeline "riding" the pony....I think she looks like a natural!

In the middle of September, we took the trio to a local Alpaca farm to experience something new. For those who don't know (we didn't!), an Alpaca is basically a smaller looking Llama. They were so cute and I think the kids enjoyed the excursion:-) Here is Olivia smiling at the alpaca.

What is it about Grampy's? The triplets LOVE their Grampy so much! They get more excited when they see him than anyone else...including me;-) My Dad is so great with the kids and I just love watching them together....such special moments!

For the first weekend in October, we made our first family outing to the Stoneycreek Pumkin Patch. It was so much fun! The girls had their first pony rides and then we took the kids out to the pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins. We got one big one and three little ones for each kiddo. We will definitely plan on doing this every year!

I could probably go on and on for hours about my girls' first pony ride;-) It was one of the happiest moments of my life! I am officially convinced both are naturals and will be wanting their own ponies in a few years...Bryan just rolls his eyes at me;-D

Last Sunday we took the kids to Zoo Boo with my mom and dad. They decorate the Zoo in a Halloween theme and we even dressed them up in their costumes. Olivia is a ladybug, Madeline is a bumblebee and Harry is a spider. It was SUPER crowded so we decided to carry everyone which worked out ok. Nonetheless, we had fun and I know the kids loved getting out to see something new.

Three Lil' One Year Olds

Well, it's official...my three little angels are one year olds!!! Yes, I am still trying to get used to this fact...my babies are growing up (tear...). But seriously, it is SO hard to believe that just a year ago, we were faced with the reality that our precious babies were suddenly born at only 27 weeks 6 days. It sometimes seems like a lifetime ago, but I can still remember plain as day the fear of the unknowing and also the guilt I felt at the fact that I was unable to carry these three innocent babies until my goal of 34 weeks. And then to deal with the emotional roller coaster of having them all in NICU for over 10 weeks. I remember the first time I really saw them all...each only weighing just over 2 lbs. each! Nothing can prepare you for seeing your babies so unbelievable tiny and fragile hooked up to so many wires and monitors and breathing tubes...it was surreal. At the time, it seems like you will be there forever but then, through God's grace, we finally got to bring home our amazing little miracles...it was one of the best days of our lives! And then for the next year, Harry, Madeline and Olivia have developed and grown into the most beautiful little children we could ever ask for. We have TRULY been blessed!!! Especially when we consider just how different things really could have been...

So I thought to really put into to perspective just how much these three have changed in a year's time, I would show you where they were a year ago...

On a lighter note, of course we celebrated Harry, Olivia and Madeline's big first birthday by hosting a party filled with family, friends and fun. It was such a wonderful day of celebration and Bryan and I were just so thankful and touched by everyone who showed up to help us celebrate a day that was so imprtant to us. Almost One...

Hello everyone! It is so hard to believe that in a week from today, my three precious little babies are going to be turning one?!?! Although I knew this year would fly by (because everyone tells you that) I still find myself getting rather emotional about the fact that my amazing little angels are growing up. But of course it is a wonderful thing because they are doing SO well!!! This weekend we will be celebrating their birthday with family and friends at our house so I will be sure to post pictures from that.

As far as the past month (since it has been that long since I last posted a new blog...oops), we have just been enjoying the summer months as a family. We have done a lot of fun things such as go the Fishers Farmers Market for the first time. We also went out to eat with our friends, the Corcorans (they have the triplet boys), and boy was that fun! As you can imagine, it was quite a site with 4 adults and 6 babies at a table:-D We also attended their boys' first birthday party and that was tons of fun too!

And to update you all on the triplets...they are doing GREAT!!! Still getting bigger and bigger and just changing everyday. Everyone is officially crawling....and not only crawling, but crawling fast!!! They are EVERYWHERE and into EVERYTHING. But it is just so much fun to watch them:-) They are playing a ton together...their favorite game is to chase each other around the house...they just squeal! All three of the kiddos are also pulling themselves up to a stand and are able to take a few steps with mommy and daddy's help....it's only a matter of time before our house is officially a zoo with crazy kiddos running wild:D

Hello everyone! First off we want to start off by wishing everyone a Happy 4th of July (a few days late of course). Since the weather wasn't so great we didn't end up doing a whole lot but we really enjoyed our time at home as a family:-) Here are the triplets on their first 4th...can you tell they are impressed...hehe;-)

As for what we have been up to for the past couple of weeks...basically just enjoying the summer! The kiddos are just growing and changing SO FAST! As I always say, it is so hard to believe they are almost 11 months old. I'm getting emotional just thinking about planning their 1st birthday! Both Olivia and Madeline are crawling all over the place...it is so fun to watch. They are also starting to pull up on everything, so as you can imagine we are in full-fledged baby-proofing mode:-) Happy Harry is doing great also! He is really working hard on his crawl...he's got the army crawl down though:-)

As many of you know, we have been blessed to have our parents live so close to us to help us out in what ever way we need with the kiddos. Both my mom and Bry's mom are so gracious with their time every week to help get house stuff done and help our with baby stuff too. Of course, I don't think they mind too much since they get to see the babes so much and spend quality time with them also:-) So even though I say THANK YOU a lot to them, I thought it would be fun to plan a morning at the zoo with the three of us and the kiddos. We had a blast! Here are a few pictures from the day:

Another fun new thing the triplets have experienced for the first time this summer is the swimming pool...and they love it! They are like three little fish:-) Harry especially loves the water and thinks it is sooo much fun to splash his sisters. We started first with our little kiddy pool that we got for them. Look how cute they are:-)

Since they did so great in their little pool we decided to move on up to the big pool! We took them over to our neighborhood pool with their little floaties. Again, they just loved it! They enjoyed watching the other kids splashing around in the pool. And Harry got so relaxed in his floaty that he started falling asleep...it was so cute:-) Here are some pics:

So this picture has a story...Madeline is a baby on a mission when it comes to crawling and she crawls over what ever gets in her way...including her brother. Last Friday we finally got to meet our good friends Jay and Mary's new baby girl Lila...and she is SO CUTE! We think Harry thinks so too;-)

9 month pictures

A couple of weekends ago we had our dear friend Amanda Walter (check out her blog for her work) come out again and take 9 month pictures of the triplets. This is the third time she has taken pictures for us and she once again did an AMAZING job:-) It is SO hard to believe that Harry, Olivia and Madeline are already 9 months old and that in just a couple of months we are going to be celebrating their 1st birthday! These three amazing little wonders have brought so much joy to our lives over the past several months that I can't even remember what life was like before they came along...well I do remember we had a lot more extra time on our hands;-) For instance, just the other day I was sitting on the couch watching the kiddos play when I noticed Olivia and Harry playing with each other. Now up until recently, they haven't paid that much attention to each other. They proceeded to just giggle and belly laugh with each other for like 5 minutes! It was such an incredible thing to watch them with each other and it just made me SO happy to see them together interacting with each other like that. In fact, I may have gotten a little teary-eyed (ok, I know I'm a little sappy) but I just LOVED watching it. Anyway, here are just a few of the pictures that Amanda took for us...hope you enjoy:-D

Ok, so I really do have a reason why it has taken me a couple of weeks to update the blog this time...our internet has been down:-( It really is true that you don't know how much you need something until it is gone!!! Anyway, I have once again gotten a little carried away with pictures but the Callahan family has had some fun adventures these past couple of weeks. I should start off by giving the updated weights and heights for the trips:

Olivia: 19.25 lbs and 28 1/2" long
Harry: 18.3 lbs and 28 1/2" long
Madeline: 17.7 lbs and 28" long

They have gotten so big that they are actually on the 9 month growth chart instead of the adjusted ago preemie chart....so exciting!!!Next let's wish Bryan (aka. Daddy) a big happy birthday! He turned 28 on Monday...who would've thought we'd be 28 with 3 babies?!?!? Life sure is crazy:-) To celebrate, we went over to his mom's house yesterday to spend time with her and my mom and dad. We had a great time and since the weather cooperated, the babies got to take their first ride on the boat! For those who do not know, Nan lives right on Morse Lake:-) The babies did remarkable well considering they had to wear their life vests that are half the size of them! Now that we are able to get out with the kiddos more, we decided a couple of weekends ago to take them to the zoo! We got there first thing on Saturday morning to hopefully beat the heat and the crowds. The morning was beautiful and we just had a ball watching the triplets experience so much new stuff...I just love the amazement on their faces. Their favorites were the fish in the Oceans exhibit, the baboons and the Kamodo dragons. Of course, there were many moments where Bryan and I felt like a zoo exhibit ourselves! People are just so amazed by the triplets, which I don't mind sometimes but some people can just be down right rude!!! But we are learning to deal with that;-) Anyway, here are some really cute pictures from the day:

To close out this blog, I have included a bunch (ok, I might have gotten a little carried away) of pictures just to try and show how much these amazing little miracles are growing and developing. When we had babies that were born weighing less than 3 lbs., we worried so much how their development and growth may be affected and of course, the doctors tell you that only time will tell. Well look at them now!!! You would never be able to guess these three were considered micro-preemies just 9 months ago! We have been SO BLESSED that sometimes I feel like I cannot thank God enough for what he has given us. Please enjoy:-)

Of course, half of these kids are ours and half of them belong to both of them combined;-) They are such great friends and we feel so blessed to have them in our lives!

Lots of Catching Up To Do!

Well hello everyone...finally! Sorry it has been a month since I last updated the blog...warm weather has finally come and I seem to be keeping myself very busy:-) Therefore I must warn you that I have gotten a little carried away with the pictures in this blog but there has been so much that has happened in the past month!

On a non-baby related note, Bryan and I took out first trip away from the babies since they were born. We decided to take a long weekend away to Gatlinburg, TN. and rented a cabin in the Smokey Mountains. We had a great time and it was good for us to have some time together, just the two of us to relax. The Grandmas so graciously watch the kiddos for us...who were little angels we were told:-) We are so glad we got a way for a bit but I must admit that I was SO ready to get back to my little ones. Here are a couple of pictures from the trip:

So enough about us...we have lots of catching up to do about the triplets!!! First we must wish them happy 9 months old today:-D I know every mom says it but time is FLYING by!!! They are just changing and growing so fast everyday...it's amazing!

First update is the Harry and Madeline officially have both of their bottom teeth. Olivia's have not popped through yet but we can tell it it just a matter of time. Here is a picture of Harry's 2 teeth...so cute:)

Next update is that we started the kiddos on solid foods about 2 1/2 weeks ago. They were showing lots of signs that they were ready so we decided to go ahead and start them on the veggies. They have doing great so far! There is not a thing that Harry and Madeline won't eat but Olivia is a different story. She ate the sweet potatoes and carrots fine but when we tried green beans and peas...what a spectacle! She makes some pretty entertaining faces and gags...so dramatic;-D Anyway, here are a couple of pictures from their very first feeding:

Another big milestone in the past couple of weeks had been sitting up. They are all able to sit up with only a little support from the boppy pillow. Olivia and Madeline have also started really rocking on their hands and knees trying to figure out how to crawl...it's only a matter of time we think. They are all three already rolling all over the family room...I never know where they are going to end up! We have decided that it is time to get their playroom ready. We are going to gate off our living room area so that I can keep track of everybody...or at least try! They have just gotten so active over the past couple of weeks...they are so much fun:-) Here are a couple of pictures of Harry and Olivia sitting by themselves:

Another big event was my first Mother's Day! We celebrated the day at Bryan's mom's house along with my parents. It was a wonderful day! Here a few pictures:

Personalities continue to grow with all three...Madeline had earned nicknames such as "Crazy Girl" and "Wild Thing" because she is wild!!! She never ceases to have us laughing:-D

Triplets' First Easter

Well we had a wonderful first Easter as a family of five! The Easter came to visit the triplets and brought them a fun Easter book (we could've done the traditional easter basket thing but of course Bry and I would be the ones eating the candy:-). We actually spent our first holiday with the trio away from our house. We took the babies over to Grammy and Grampy Skinner's house for an afternoon of eating, playing and family time. Nana Callahan and Aunt Leah also joined us over there and we all really had a great time. The triplets are the most laid back easily adaptable babies so it makes it easy to take them places. They just made themselves right at home playing, taking their bottles and even taking a great nap! Here are some pictures from the wonderful day:

The Callahan household is SO glad the spring is finally here (even if it was only 40 degrees on Sunday)! For those who know me well, you know how much I LOVE planting flowers and gardening. I can't wait to get started on getting some things planted here at the new house soon:-D We had someone come out yesterday and make the flower beds for us so all we have to do now is plant and mulch...I know Bry is so excited;-D

I am also loving spring because I have finally been able to get the babies out some more for walks around the neighborhood. They love getting out and getting fresh air just as much as mommy I think! Of course, we are a total spectacle around the neighborhood with our triplet stroller/mini-bus. It is a miracle if I get through a walk without being stopped at least once for someone to ask, "is that triplets?!?!?". That's ok though...we love showing off our cute little trio:-D

Speaking of the triplets, Olivia and Harry both reached big developmental milestones last week...they are both now rolling from their back to their tummies! It is so cute!!! In fact, we can't seem to even keep them on their backs for anything now...even when sleeping. Check out this picture of Harry...this is how we found him napping a couple days ago:

Cute, huh?!?! Madeline is doing great also though!!! She is not trying as much to roll on her tummy but she is really close to being able to sit on her own. It is fun to have three babies at once and see how differently babies grow and develop. They are all three of course still VERY vocal and super smiley. Here are few more pictures of the kiddos:

Some other fun things that have been going on for us is that this past Sunday we had my parents over and Bry's mom over to have a small to-do for my 28th birthday. It was nice to have everyone together for dinner, cake and play the babies. Here is an adorable picture of Olivia and I celebrating mommy's b-day:

Also, a couple of weeks ago we got a triplet feeding table for the three munchkins. We decided to go with this instead of three high chairs for sake of room and convenience. We have not actually started any solid foods yet. We are waiting until they are about 6 months adjusted age ( they are about 4 1/2 months adjusted age now) to start that new adventure. Another fun thing mommy and the triplets did was go on our first play date!!! Last wednesday, I took the kiddos over to my friend Megan Corcoran's house to play with her triplet boys. Megan and I have become great friends because we have so much in common...we both went to Butler, we have triplets and they were born only 2 weeks apart from each other. Anyway, it was a super fun morning with the kiddos all together. I tell you though...it was crazy to see six babies all together and to know that they were all ours!!! Here a couple pictures:

Last thing, just this past weekend, the triplets got an early visit from the Easter bunny!!! Our realtor, Jamie Boer, arranged the whole thing and it really was so cute. We had 6 month pictures taken of Harry, Olivia and Madeline last weekend by Amanda Walters. You may be familiar with her work if you have seen some of the pictures she has taken of Brooke and Brandon Kline's son Garrett. She is just amazing at what she does and we couldn't be more thrilled with what she did! Here is a small sampling of some of the wonderful pictures she took. Enjoy!

6 Months Old....Already?!?!?

It is so hard to believe that the triplets are already 6 months old!!! And boy are they growing too! We had them in for their 6 month doctors appointment and here are their updated weights:

Harry: 14 lbs. 7 oz.

Madeline: 14 lbs. 6 oz.

Olivia: 16 lbs. 2 oz.

Of course, Olivia continues to be our big girl:-D Dr. Stanley said that on the adjusted (preemie) growth curve, the girls are in the 90th percentile for height and weight and Harry is in the 75th percentile. Pretty good considering these guys all started out less than 3 lbs. just 6 months ago!

Everything else is going great for the Callahan household. We were so excited to have a visit from our friends Laura and Jeremy who were in town from Louisville. Their little girl Addison just turned 1 years old!!! Our good friend Erin Hillebrand had her bachelorette party last weekend so it was so much fun to get to go out for the night and see friends I have not been able to see much lately. And yes, for those who are wondering, Bryan stayed home with the kiddos and watched them all by himself! He is such a great daddy:-D

Also, this past weekend we took the babies up to Nana's house to celebrate her birthday with her which was a lot of fun. We don't get out of the house much unless it is to go to the doctor so at least the kiddos know that there are other places to go that are much more fun:-)

Not much else new here....the babes just continue to grow so well physically and developmentally. Dr. Stanley says that they are actually ahead for their adjusted age which is great to hear. We will continue to keep everyone posted! Enjoy some updated pictures below:

Can you tell that the Callahan household is getting some serious spring fever?!?!? We are SO ready for RSV season to be over so that mommy and the triplets can be released into public:-D I guess we are getting closer though!

We are so, so blessed as our three little munchkins just continue to do so well. They will be three months adjusted age next week and are all three growing so great physically and socially. We had to take Olivia in last Friday for a swallow study because she was showing signs of discomfort while eating her bottles. Sure enough, the swallow study showed that she was having some deep penetrations above her air way which can really hurt when they are eating. So Olivia has to have her bottles thickened with rice cereal which seems to have helped her a lot. Other than this minor issue Olivia is doing great though! We had her weighed at her swallow study and she was just over 14 lbs.!!!! She is smiling a ton and likes to have little conversations with you...it is so cute:-)

Madeline and Harry are doing great also! We have not had them officially weighed in about 3 weeks but we think they are both somewhere between 12 and 13 lbs. Madeline has really progressed physically and socially over the past few weeks. She can hold her head on her own very steady and can roll from her tummy to her back almost every time. She also loves to grab on to her toys and put them in her mouth or just have a conversation with them....she is such a funny baby:-) She has also found her squeal and loves to hear herself do that. And her favorite is when her daddy tells her how pretty she is....she will smile from ear to ear everytime he does it...so cute!

Harry, our little hambone, continues to do great also. He has many nicknames but the most fitting for him is Mr. Happy. The boy almost never stops smiling from the time he wakes up until the evening. He just loves to be told he is handsome and the funniest is everytime to say to him, "show me your gums", he smiles! He also LOVES to carry on conversations with you. This kid definitely has to gift of gab and can talk to you forever. I guess this is no surprise considering who his parents are:-D

Getting Bigger!

Well we took the kiddos for their Synagis (RSV) shots yesterday and got updated weights for them...they are continuing to get so big!!! Here are their weights:

Olivia (aka. Budda) : 12 lbs 8 oz
Harry : 11 lbs 13 oz
Madeline : 11 lbs 15 oz

We are just so blessed that these three little miracles continue to grow as well as they have. They are now 9 weeks adjusted age and have almost already grown out of their 3 month sized clothes! We really are so glad they are getting so big but at the same time I can't help but get a little sentimental when I realize how fast they grow up. Of course, I here from everyone it only continues to go faster as they get older so I try not to wish time by too fast. This can be hard to remember though when you are feeling sleep deprived and I can't wait for spring time so we can finally leave this stinkin' house!!!! I think all four of us are getting a little stir crazy from having to stay at home all the time. Boy will we be glad when RSV season is over!!! For those who may be wondering when that is, it will be sometime in April.

Really not much else new for us though. All three of our little munchkins keep continuing to get more and more social with smiles and cooing....that is just so much fun:-D Here are a couple new pictures...enjoy!!

Happy New Year!

Well what a crazy year 2008 was for the Callahan family...we went from 2 of us to 5 of us?!?!? But what three little blessings God gave us as I can't imagine what life would be without all three of them. It is hard to believe that 2008 is already gone though...it was definitely a year that we will never forget!

Our first New Year's as the five of us was VERY low key. Since we can't take the kiddos anywhere, it was just us at home and in fact, we went to bed at 9:30pm!!! Oh how life has changed for us:-D But Olivia decided that at 11:45 she wanted to get up and ring in the New Year so we were actually up at midnight...hehe.

The triplets' first Christmas was wonderful though! We celebrated Christmas day at our house with Grammy, Grampy, Nana and Aunt Leah. It really was so nice to have the whole family here so that everyone could spend quality time with the babies. They of course were spoiled for Christmas with toys, diapers (this is a big deal for us!) and a Jumparoo. They are too little for their Jumparoo right now but I think they will love it once they are a bit bigger.

Speaking of size, they are continuing to get bigger and bigger. We haven't had them officially weighed in a couple of weeks but based on our scale Olivia is up to 13 lbs.!!! Harry and Madeline are not too far behind either. They turned 8 weeks adjusted age on Wednesday so they seem to be doing just great even though they were so premature.

All three of them continue to be more and more social and interactive which is so much fun for Mommy and Daddy...those smiles and laughs are addicting!!! They have all discovered their hands too and are starting to grab at things a little more. In fact, Olivia has found her thumb! She has decided that her thumb is much better than her pacifier which is fine by us for now:-D It really is so cute though!

Ok, we are finally updating our blog...I know it has been awhile. Time sure does fly by when taking care of three babies! Anyway, we were so excited because about a week ago we started getting our first real smiles from the babes...that is just so great! Harry and Olivia were the first to smile and then Madeline did a few days later. I've got a couple fun pictures of them smiling below.

Other big news is the triplets turned 4 months old on last Friday and will be 6 weeks adjusted age on Christmas eve! They went on the 16th for their well baby visit and they are all continuing to grow like little weeds. Olivia is still our big girl at 11 lbs., Harry is 10 1/2 lbs. and Madeline is 10 lbs. Truly amazing to think considering just 4 months ago these little guys started at just 2 lbs. 6oz., 2 lbs. 7oz. and 2 lbs. 11oz. They say Christmas is a time for miracles and there is no doubt that these three amazing babies are our miracles from God! It truly makes us count our blessings everyday.

Welcome to our new blog! We finally created a "real one" so that all of our friends and family can continue to follow our crazy new life with our triplets. We finally got everyone home on the day before Halloween which we were so happy about. Boy has life been a blur ever since! The triplets are doing so great...we continue to think how truly blessed we are that these three babies who had such a rough start to life are doing so amazing. Sometimes it is hard to even imagine that they came into this world 12 weeks too early and only weighed about 2 lbs each....especially considering that Harry and Olivia are now 10 lbs and Madeline is close behind at 9 lbs 8 oz. Here are a few fun recent pictures that we had taken of the triplets...enjoy!
